The Nerd Is The Word

The actual list of things made by Dan is pretty interesting reading and his commentary on the various books and projects is pretty cool to. 

I find Dan DiDio an interesting guy because he takes all the venom thrown at him by a large portion of the comics community in his stride. He rarely seems to get offended by it when he really should because some of the things people say about him would make a serial-killer blush. Wether you like or loath DiDio the mark he has made on DC and the comics industry as a whole is evident. I like pretty much all of the ten things listed (why no Wednesday Comics Dan? WHY?) because a lot of them in particular: Batman: Hush, Superman/Batman: Supergirl, Infinite Crisis and 52 were how I got into DC as a publisher. I like these stories a lot.

But this is the internet so any comment thread on a post containing this list very quickly devolves into the “Dan DiDio has personally offended me/killed DC Comics/I hate him for….reasons and things!” To which I am now physically drained by reading at this point. It is mostly pointless venting of frustrations. If he was actually as bad at his job as people say he would have been kicked to the curb a long, long, looong, time ago.

So I’m going to say, cheers to Dan for helping to bring me so many good comics like the ones on your list and many more in your past ten years at DC. Here’s to ten more!
